LUNCH CHARGE POLICY
North Union believes in the importance of nutritious meals for every student. Therefore, students who have negative lunch balances will no longer be denied a meal. Instead the student will be provided a main menu lunch, salad lunch or wildcat lunch. These lunches will be charged to the student’s lunch account. No student who has a negative lunch account balance will be able to charge a la carte items.
Parent/Guardian(s) are responsible for paying any and all charges made to their student’s lunch account. It is recommended that payments be made daily or weekly to
avoid a negative balance situation. We accept payment in the form of cash,
check, or online with the EZ Pay link. You can find the EZ Pay link on our
website at www.n-union.k12.oh.us. If you do not wish to pay online, it is still a great tool to track your student’s account balance and to see what is being purchased. This service is free for North Union students. A payment reminder letter will be sent out each nine weeks to families who have incurred a negative balance of $10.00 or more. If the balance is not paid by the specified dates of October 18th, December 21st, February 18th, and April 19th, a final letter will be sent out May 24th. After that the remaining balance will be applied to the student’s school fees. These
fees must be paid in order for your student to be able to participate in field
trips and fundraisers or to be able to attend prom or graduation.

assured that your student will not be identified as Free or Reduced while going
through the line. You can fill out this form at any time throughout the school

As a parent you have the right to control your student’s account. If you do not want your student to eat breakfast or buy unlimited a la carte items just send a note to the cashier or call as we can put limits on the account. A la carte items will not be charged to elementary accounts unless they are authorized by the parent/guardian.
If you have any questions about the Free and Reduced Application or your student’s account contact Beverly Wasserbeck, Food Service Director at (740) 943-2509 ext. 1601 or email me at [email protected].
