Press Release - March 25, 2019

March 25, 2019

Dear Community,

The North Union FFA Agronomy Career Development Event (CDE) team competed at the Ohio State Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 23, 2019. The team placed first out of 28 schools and will represent Ohio at the National FFA Convention. Each state-winning team will compete in Indianapolis, IN October 30-31. Team members are Joel Krebehenne, Kaylee Smith, Dean Wolfe and Avery Zwayer. Each individual placed in the top six, with Kaylee earning first place honors. This was North Union's 12th state-winning team since 2003. Agronomy is the science and technology of producing crops for food, fiber and fuel. FFA CDEs are competitive events that build on skills learned in the agriculture education classroom and prepare students for careers.

Congratulations to our competitors and their families, our advisors, our FFA Program, North Union High School, North Union Local School District and our community.

Sincerely,

Richard J. Baird, Superintendent
