NU Robotics Teams Qualify for VEX World Championship

Nearly one month after qualifying for the VEX World Championships, North Union Robotics Teams are busy preparing for their trip to Anaheim, CA in April. North Union will send five teams with eleven students from the middle school and high school to compete against students from all over the world.

In addition to preparing their robots for a world-level competition, the team has been busy with the almost overwhelming task of raising the necessary funds to make this trip a reality. Fortunately though, what has quickly become even more overwhelming, is the huge amount of support and generosity of the school and Richwood and surrounding communities. The team would like to say a huge THANK YOU for the many donations from the North Union staff and other area businesses and individuals received so far.

Fundraising efforts will continue over the next few weeks, and the entire community is invited to come help the cause at our Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, April 6, 2013, 7-11 am in the North Union High School cafeteria. The cost is $5.00 per person for all you can eat. During the breakfast event, there will also be a silent auction with many gifts and items donated from area businesses, a 50-50 raffle, as well as robot demonstrations and competitions.

Anyone who has any questions about the trip or would like to make a donation to the team should contact the NU Robotics Club Advisors, Kristi Matlack [email protected] or Jodie Kavanagh [email protected]. Thank you for your support.
