Mrs. Borders, guidance counselor, headed the assembly with the assistance of NU Elementary Student Council and Gail DeGood-Guy. The Richwood VFW Post 870 opened the ceremony by brining in the colors. The 4th and 5th grade Scouts led the Pledge of Allegiance. Dave Leavitt and Trenton Smith played the Taps. Miss Fox, NU Elementary Music Teacher, directed each grade level as they paid tribute to the Veterans by singing a patriotic song. Mikah Cole, Carter Kiess, Tayah Patterson, Blake Taylor, and Dylan Hopkins shared their patriotic essay with the Veterans.The program concluded with Veterans and their families enjoying refreshments in the school cafeteria.
