Fifth Grade Planet Projects

Fifth Grade Planet Projects

The fifth graders were learning about planets and how each of them have unique characteristic.  Each student was given a packet which included the steps of the report, how to make the planet, and the rubrics on how they would be graded.  The project was worth 120 points.  Each student had to research their planet, and type a report on it, and then apply what they had learned to making the actual planet.  If the planet had moons or rings, those were to be included.  Some of the planets have a lot of moons, so therefore they were to choose 5 moons and label them. The students were also then to present their project and their report in front of their peers. The students enjoyed doing this project and learning about all of the unique characteristics about their planet.
