NU Students Involved in Serious Automobile Accident
Dear North Union Families:

I have serious information to report to the North Union community. Three North Union High School students were involved in a serious automobile accident on Friday evening, March 23, 2018 at about 10:00 p.m. Students Chris Conrad, Ben Conrad, and Wyatt Yates were involved in the accident. Two other males from other school districts were also involved, and a fifteen year old lost his life in the accident.

Chris has been released from the hospital. Ben remains at OSU Medical Center in critical condition. Wyatt is at Children’s Hospital in critical condition and the family has informed us that no visitors may be received at this time. All of the students and their families need positive thoughts and prayers.

North Union High School will be open with counselors available for students and/or families who need support or resources from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26, and Tuesday, March 27. Counseling will also be available for students and families when school resumes, Monday, April 2, 2018.

If you would like to send statements of support to the families, please click on this link, https://goo.gl/forms/3wVeG2Hquf88aBMp1.

The Richwood Banking Company has set up accounts for each of the families where monetary donations may be made to help the families with expenses. The Bank will also accept gift card donations on behalf of the families. The school district will ensure the families receive these donations.

The North Union Community will remain strong in support of these families. Positive support is important to both families and only accurate information should be shared. Also, please only offer positive support on social media.

The school district would like to thank our community and all agencies supporting the families through this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Richard J. Baird
Superintendent
