Thank you parents for your patience with us as we transition classroom learning to online learning. Student Mental Health

  • These are uncertain times. It is normal for youth to feel frightened, confused, depressed, anxious, etc. Please check in with your child regularly about their feelings and listen for understanding. Reach out for help if needed.

  • See the district website for counseling services

  • Please let the high school know if your child is struggling. We want to support him/her!

Students Are Asking Questions…

(My response in the 3/19/20 student newsletter.)

The Unknown….

When will we return to school? Will we have prom? Spring sports? Graduation? Will I still graduate? What about state testing?

Here is what I know:

#1 You are going to be fine! WE are going to be fine!

#2 Yes you will graduate… but you still have to do your work. (Darn!)

#3 State testing has been delayed… that’s all we know for now.

#4 Spring sports, prom, graduation ceremony, etc… We don’t know yet how this is going to look. But I will be working with student leaders and staff to create some fun, engaging ways for us to connect virtually until we have those answers. Stay tuned!

#5 We will return to school when the governor and superintendent tell us we can. I know, that answer makes me crazy too. I just want to know already!

Enjoy this time with your family and break from the hectic pace of life!

We will communicate with students and families as information becomes available. Please follow us on Twitter and check the district and NUHS websites for updates. You will also receive phone messages regularly. Reach out if you have any questions!

I will post a weekly parent newsletter (like this one) on the high school website under the newsletter tab.

Take Care!
