NUHS DECA Members Earn District Recognition
NUHS DECA Members Earn District RecognitionNine North Union DECA members recently traveled to Easton to compete in District events all related to the Marketing sector of business. DECA is a career technical student organization that allows students to learn more about marketing and business information while also learning about and participating in leadership activities.

Their website states: With nearly a 70-year history, DECA has impacted the lives of more than ten million students, educators, school administrators and business professionals since it was founded in 1946. Their strong connection with our organization has resonated into a brand that people identify as a remarkable experience in the preparation of emerging leaders and entrepreneurs.

Three members of the group Katie Dotson, Conor Hoffman, and Gabe Burggraf earned District recognition by placing second in their events and have earned the opportunity to compete at the State of Ohio DECA competition which will take place onMarch 17th & 18th in Columbus, Ohio. There they will compete against other DECA members from around the state.

This is North Union's inaugural year being a DECA chapter. Previously, they were members of Business Professionals of America. The NU chapter currently has 45 members and their adviser is Peg Curts.
